Families can book a Hyundai Staria (250 SAR), Toyota Hiace (300 SAR) or GMC Yukon XL (350 SAR), and groups can choose a Toyota Coaster (500 SAR) or a 44-seat Yutong bus (700 SAR). The fare is fixed and agreed before you travel.

The drive is about 100 km and usually takes 75 to 90 minutes. Traffic leaving the Haram area can be heavy after prayers and during Ramadan, so it is worth allowing extra time.
Airlines usually ask passengers to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight. With the drive and a buffer for traffic, most pilgrims leave their Makkah hotel around 5 hours before departure. Send us your flight time and we will suggest a pickup time.

Pilgrims often fly home with Zamzam and gifts, so if you are unsure, choose the next size up. For groups, a Toyota Coaster carries about 15 large bags and the Yutong bus has a full luggage hold.

The Haramain train runs from Makkah station to the airport station, but you still need to get from your hotel to Makkah station with all your luggage. A taxi collects you from your hotel lobby and drops you at your departure terminal, which is much easier with Zamzam, gifts and checked bags.
