Ziyarat in Makkah means visiting the places connected to the life of the Prophet ï·º and the rites of Hajj. Seeing the Cave of Hira where the revelation began, the cave of Thawr from the Hijrah, and the plains of Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat brings the history you have read about to life, and many pilgrims find it one of the most moving parts of their trip.

Our Makkah ziyarat tour takes you to these places by private taxi, at your own pace, with a driver who knows each site. Below is the full Makkah ziyarat places list, followed by tour fares for every vehicle size.

Makkah Ziyarat Places List

The historic places in Makkah most pilgrims visit on their ziyarat tour.

Jabal al-Nour and the Cave of Hira
The mountain north-east of the Haram where the Prophet ï·º used to retreat in the Cave of Hira, and where the first verses of the Quran were revealed to him.
2
Jabal Thawr
The mountain south of Makkah with the cave where the Prophet ï·º and Abu Bakr (RA) sheltered for three nights during the Hijrah to Madinah.
3
Mina
The valley of white tents where pilgrims stay during Hajj, home to the Jamarat and Masjid al-Khayf.
4
Muzdalifah
The open plain between Mina and Arafat where Hajj pilgrims spend the night and collect pebbles, with Masjid al-Mash'ar al-Haram.

Makkah Ziyarat: FAQs

What places are included in the Makkah ziyarat tour?

Our Makkah ziyarat tour usually covers Jabal al-Nour and the Cave of Hira, Jabal Thawr, Mina, Muzdalifah, Arafat and Jabal al-Rahmah, Jannat al-Mu'alla and Masjid al-Jinn. Tell your driver if there is a particular place you would like to add or skip.

How much does a Makkah ziyarat taxi cost?

A private Makkah ziyarat tour starts from 180 SAR in a Toyota Camry for up to 4 passengers. Families can book a Hyundai Staria (230 SAR), Toyota Hiace (300 SAR) or GMC Yukon XL (350 SAR), and groups can choose a Toyota Coaster (450 SAR) or a 44-seat Yutong bus (600 SAR).

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

All our fares are per vehicle, not per person. The price covers everyone travelling in the vehicle, so a family of four in a Camry pays 180 SAR in total.

How long does a Makkah ziyarat tour take?

Most pilgrims complete the tour in about 2 to 3 hours, including short stops at each site. If you want extra time somewhere, extra waiting is charged at our hourly rate.

Can we climb Jabal al-Nour to the Cave of Hira?

The standard tour stops at the foot of Jabal al-Nour. The climb to the Cave of Hira is steep and usually takes 1 to 2 hours up and down, so if you want to climb, tell us when you book and extra waiting time is charged at our hourly rate.

What is the best time for Makkah ziyarat?

Early morning after Fajr is the best time. It is cooler, the roads are quieter, and you are back at your hotel well before the midday heat and Dhuhr prayer.

Is ziyarat part of Umrah?

No. Visiting the historic places of Makkah is not one of the rites of Umrah. It is an optional visit that many pilgrims make to learn about the life of the Prophet ï·º and the history of Islam.

Can I go to Masjid Aisha for another Umrah?

Yes. Masjid Aisha at Tan'im is the nearest Miqat to the Haram. We offer return trips from your Makkah hotel from 100 SAR. See our Miqat trips page for details.
